National Care Leavers’ Month 2026: The theme is…

Just in case you missed it, the Alliance for Children in Care and Care Leavers has been on the hunt for the perfect theme to accompany National Care Leavers’ Month (NCLM) 2026. The search started with an invite to care experienced individuals to contribute their ideas and views about what this year’s celebrations should embody. Following a series of surveys and a round of voting, it’s time to reveal all.

Introducing your 2026 theme… Leading The Way: From Experience to Empowerment.

This reflects how care experienced individuals become leaders in their own lives while recognising them as drivers of real change across the sector.

We are really looking forward to uniting behind this theme to shine a light on the amazing achievement of care experienced individuals and continue calling for the changes that need to happen.

While we wait for November to arrive, we’ll be preparing this year’s social media assets ready for you to plaster all over the internet – we’ll let you know once these are available.

Closer to the time, we will also compile a programme of events, campaigns, and opportunities that you could get involved in. One that you can already put in your calendar is our United for Change for Care Leavers event, which takes place on Tuesday 17th November at The Vox, Birmingham. You can find out all the details and book tickets here.

In the meantime, thank you to everyone who took part in our surveys – you’ve already helped to give NCLM 2026 a strong start!

If you have any questions, thoughts, or comments in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to us at nlcbf@catch-22.org.uk.
