Each year, we ask for feedback from young people to help shape the theme and activities of NCLW. This year, we want to know whether Care Leavers prefer NCLW to be a week-long or a month-long event.

Care-experienced individuals have been working alongside professionals (including care-experienced professionals) from charities involved with the Alliance for Children in Care and Care Leavers to create this year’s National Care Leavers Week consultation.
Last year’s consultation on the duration of NCLW resulted in a close decision, with a preference for a 1-week event winning by only 2 votes.
We also noticed from creating a programme of NCLW events and activities last year, that many took place across October and November, even though a single week was chosen. Because of this, we’re asking for your opinions again, weighing the pros and cons of each option.
