We’re excited to announce that YPBMF’s “In Their Own Words” Event is returning for its fourth year! This online event will take place on Thursday, July 3rd, from 2:00 PM – 3:45 PM.
This year, we’re taking a crucial step: we’re revisiting the five key priority areas we highlighted previously. Care-experienced young people from YPBMF will update you on the progress made and pinpoint where change still needs to happen in these areas:
- Cost of Living
- Health and Mental Health
- Communities of Support
- Safe and Affordable Accommodation
- Support Post 21 & 25
This event for Senior Policy and Decision Makers across government, LA’s & the third sector, including MPs, Lead Members, DCSs, and Policy Leads. It’s your opportunity to hear from the very people affected by these policies.
Last year, we welcomed over 280 attendees, and we’ve seen improvements locally and nationally as a direct result of the key messages shared, including the launch of several Care Leaver Hubs across the country. You can read the blog and watch the videos of last year’s key messages to see the impact.
During the event, attendees will be invited to discuss what they’ve heard and to make a pledge about the specific actions they can take to make a difference within their area of work.
